It was only recently described scientifically, having circulated earlier in horticulture under the provisional name Agave sp. ‘Magnifica’. In cultivation it forms clustered groups of compact, symmetrical rosettes typically 2 to 3 feet tall and 2 to 4 feet wide over time. Leaves are broad, thick, and substantial, pale green on the upper surface and distinctly glaucous to whitish blue beneath, where green bud imprints are often clearly visible. The overall effect is solid and architectural rather than finely textured, with marginal armature present but not visually dominant. Plants remain evergreen year-round in suitable climates and maintain a dense, orderly habit. Flowering is considered infrequent and remains poorly documented, consistent with its recent introduction to cultivation. The species was first collected in 2018 by Salomón Javier Romero and formally described in 2022 by Greg Starr, who named it in honor of the collector. Agave salomonii grows best in full sun to light shade in very well-drained soil, with low irrigation once established, and appears tolerant of drought, wind, and coastal conditions. Cold tolerance is not yet well established, and the plant should be treated as frost sensitive until further experience is available.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"dryoasisplants","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51656486420711,"sku":"agve-magni-15ga","price":70.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0657\/2998\/6791\/files\/agave_magnifica_5ga_side.jpg?v=1766703299","url":"https:\/\/dryoasisplants.com\/products\/agave-magnifica-3ga","provider":"dryoasisplants","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
