Native to mountainous habitats in northern South Africa, Aloe angelica is closely related in appearance to Aloe thraskii and Aloe alooides, though it differs in floral structure and habitat preference. It performs best in full sun with well-drained soil and moderate to low irrigation once established, developing into a substantial specimen over time. The species is best suited to frost-free or lightly frosted climates, roughly corresponding to USDA Zones 9b–11.
