Aloe distans, also known as Jeweled Aloe or Golden Tooth Aloe, is a sprawling succulent indigenous to South Africa's west coast. Growing in dense clusters, its stems can reach up to 3 meters as they spread along the ground or climb over rocks. Its rosettes of blue-green leaves, adorned with golden spines, make it a visually striking addition to any garden. Starting in the middle of summer and lasting throughout the fall, it produces dense capitate heads of coral tubular flowers that attract pollinators. This stemless succulent has compact, densely packed rosettes with firm, yellowish teeth lining the edges of its leaves. Its leaves, which can grow up to 6 cm long and 2 cm wide, vary in color from waxy blue-green to gray and may have scattered whitish spots.
