If you want a visually "tropical" agave, Agave chiapensis is a perfect choice. This medium-sized, sturdy plant has striking light green foliage that is typically ovate in shape. It reaches 2 feet in height and 3 feet in spread, boasting tightly packed small teeth and a 1 inch terminal spine on each leaf. As it matures, a 6 foot tall unbranched flower stalk emerges, bearing green flowers with a purple tinge. It's also hardy down to 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
This plant has been grown in a 2 gallon pot. You will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. The plant is shipped "dry root" (without soil).
