Aloe "Birds and Bees" - 7ga

Aloe 'Birds and Bees' is a large, shrubby succulent originating from South Africa, prized for its striking appearance and bicolored flowers. It can grow up to 6 feet tall and wide, featuring rosettes of thick, gray-green leaves that can reach 18 inches in length. Alternatively, it can be pruned to resemble a small tree. Blooming in mid-winter, its stout inflorescences bear dark orange buds that open into yellow flowers from the base upwards. Selected from seedlings grown from open-pollinated seeds in 2007, this cultivar was introduced for sale in 2013 for its attractive bicolored flowers. Thriving in full sun to light shade, it is likely drought-tolerant and moderately cold-hardy, enduring temperatures down to at least 27°F. 'Birds and Bees' adds ornamental value to gardens, providing attractive foliage and striking flowers during the winter months, and its versatility allows for various landscaping designs, either as a large branching shrub or pruned into a small tree-like form.
