Cold Climates - Add Heat Pack
For cold climates with upcoming sub-32-degree temperatures within five days of your order, we strongly advise adding a heat pack. Orders without a heat pack will not include one.
To prevent plants from freezing while in transit, orders placed for areas with severe freezing temperatures will be held for shipment until it is safe to ship.
Aloe 'Blue Elf' is a vigorous, tight-clumping aloe, reaching 18 inches tall by 2 feet wide, with narrow upright gray-blue leaves and spikes of orange flowers mostly appearing from early winter to early spring. This stem-less, dwarf aloe forms dense rosettes with toothed margins, growing tightly together in an upright habit. Moderate stress from sun and drought brings on a rosy flush, while extreme temperatures may result in reddish-tinged foliage tips. Flowering in late winter through early spring, 'Blue Elf' attracts hummingbirds with its showy spikes of orangey-red blooms. A cross of A. glauca x A. humilis, it thrives in full sun to light shade, preferring occasional irrigation and porous, well-drained soil. Hardy from 20 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit, it's ideal for mass plantings, rock gardens, waterwise borders, or containers, attracting hummingbirds and bees with its tubular orange flowers.
