Cold Climates - Add Heat Pack
For cold climates with upcoming sub-32-degree temperatures within five days of your order, we strongly advise adding a heat pack. Orders without a heat pack will not include one.
To prevent plants from freezing while in transit, orders placed for areas with severe freezing temperatures will be held for shipment until it is safe to ship.
Aloe cooperi, a hardy grass aloe from South Africa, is smaller than most Aloes and adds a lovely touch to any garden. It forms offsets freely, with thin, v-shaped leaves held in a fan shape, typically yellowish-green and evergreen in milder climates. In colder regions, they die back in winter, making it a waterwise choice as it requires no watering during this period. Terminal flower spikes emerge in summer, reaching up to 3 feet tall, bearing attractive flower heads with green tips and dangling coral-orange blooms, rich in nectar and frequently visited by insects and birds. Discovered in the Natal Mountains of South Africa in 1860, Aloe cooperi thrives in temperate and dry tropical climates, needing little water once established. It prefers some shade, particularly in hot inland areas, and can tolerate temperatures down to 10°F. Used traditionally by the Zulu people for food and medicinal purposes, it is an excellent choice for containers and adds charm to any garden setting.
