Cold Climates - Add Heat Pack
For cold climates with upcoming sub-32-degree temperatures within five days of your order, we strongly advise adding a heat pack. Orders without a heat pack will not include one.
To prevent plants from freezing while in transit, orders placed for areas with severe freezing temperatures will be held for shipment until it is safe to ship.
The Aloe erinacea, a small succulent native to southern Namibia, forms compact, stemless rosettes with stiff, turquoise to sea-green leaves armed with white spines, often tipped with black, and characterized by its resilience in dry conditions. It rarely offsets and remains the same size for years in cultivation. During winter, it produces tubular, bright red flowers that turn yellow, attracting birds and insects for pollination. Discovered relatively recently in the mid-1980s, it thrives in rocky, sandy soils at altitudes of 900-1350m. While slow-growing and challenging to cultivate outside its natural habitat, it prefers direct sun, excellent drainage, and occasional light fertilization. While fairly cold-tolerant, it's best suited for pot culture in warm temperate climates, making a striking ornamental addition.
Add it to your Wishlist to be notified as soon as it is available.
