Cold Climates - Add Heat Pack
For cold climates with upcoming sub-32-degree temperatures within five days of your order, we strongly advise adding a heat pack. Orders without a heat pack will not include one.
To prevent plants from freezing while in transit, orders placed for areas with severe freezing temperatures will be held for shipment until it is safe to ship.
Aloe lineata var. muirii is a medium-sized clustering species with tight one-foot rosettes of yellow-green leaves. Distinct red lines appear on its leaves and along the leaf margins, which also bear prominent red teeth, giving the leaves a brownish hue. Generally solitary, it develops a single or branched stem, with old plants having thick stems covered with the remains of old leaves. Slowly, it can reach heights of up to 6+ feet, with dense rosettes of lanceolate leaves measuring about 400–500 mm long. The bright yellowish-green leaves display noticeable fine red lines and are heavily armed with long, red-brown teeth pointing towards the center of the plant. Flowering occurs from mid-winter to late spring, with each rosette developing up to four simple inflorescences up to 4 feet tall. Flowers are spectacular, tubular in shape, and range in color from salmon to deep red. Native to South Africa, specifically the Eastern Cape and the Little Karoo, it thrives in areas with minimal frost. It is drought tolerant and ideal for water-wise landscapes, best grown in well-draining soil and full sun.
