Cold Climates - Add Heat Pack
For cold climates with upcoming sub-32-degree temperatures within five days of your order, we strongly advise adding a heat pack. Orders without a heat pack will not include one.
To prevent plants from freezing while in transit, orders placed for areas with severe freezing temperatures will be held for shipment until it is safe to ship.
The Aloe scobinifolia is a small, stemless succulent native to Somalia, characterized by rough, shark skin-like, upright leaves of a dull, pale olive-green color. Slow-growing and mostly solitary, it typically reaches 2 feet in height and 4 feet in width. The open rosettes consist of sword-shaped, pale-green leaves with smooth margins, often curving slightly upwards. The plant clusters to form small groups, with seedlings exhibiting light spotting and a lime green coloration. Notably, the leaves lack spines, giving them a smooth texture. Flowering occurs in late summer to early fall, with brilliant red to orange-yellow flowers arranged in dense capitate heads at the tips of once-branched inflorescences. Aloe scobinifolia originates from near Erigavo in the Sanaag region of Somaliland, thriving in areas with sparse vegetation and low rainfall, at altitudes of up to 5000 feet. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil, requiring occasional to minimal irrigation. While its frost hardiness is unknown, it is suitable for garden use, offering unique texture and coloration.
