Aloe "Stingray" - 4in

Aloe ‘Stingray’ is a compact hybrid aloe grown for its bold texture, reddish marginal teeth, and tidy clumping habit, making it well suited to containers and small dry-garden plantings. It forms tight, symmetrical rosettes of thick, triangular leaves that gradually produce offsets to create low clusters over time. Individual rosettes remain relatively compact, commonly reaching around 18 inches tall. The foliage is green with a firm, slightly glossy surface marked by small raised bumps that give the leaves a rough, tactile quality. In strong sunlight the leaves can develop reddish tones, especially toward the margins and tips, while the edges carry prominent reddish-pink teeth that enhance the plant’s sculptural appearance. Flowering typically occurs in summer, when slender stalks rise above the rosette bearing racemes of tubular orange to orange-pink flowers about 4–5 cm long. Aloe ‘Stingray’ is part of the “Fish Series” of hybrids developed by aloe hybridizer Larry Weisel, with the name referring to the broad, wing-like shape formed by the outward-angled leaves. In cultivation it performs best in bright sun and very well-drained soil, with moderate watering during active growth and dry conditions between irrigations. The compact habit and distinctive texture make it a useful accent plant for containers, rock gardens, and small succulent plantings where its form can be appreciated at close range.
