Aloe striata x dawei - 4in

This is an accidental hybrid of Aloe striata (Coral Aloe) and most likely Aloe dawei which was blooming at the same time. We have just a few in stock. Out of a few thousand Aloe striata seeds a handful have grown into these distinctly non-Coral-Aloe-like plants. Note the pink teeth on the leaf margins. I'm assuming the pink color came from the Coral Aloe while the teeth and leaf spots came from Aloe dawei. The leaf shape seems to be a happy medium between the the relatively narrow A. dawei form and the broad, smooth Coral Aloe leaf shape. Another interesting hybrid characteristic is the overall plant form. While Aloe striata is generally single stemmed with a low profile, Aloe Dawei is taller and branching. It is too early to know for sure if these plants will end up single stemmed but that seems to be the direction they are headed.

Not for everyone but kind of a cool looking Aloe!
