The Aloe tauri, known for its elegant form, is a stemless or decumbent-stemmed plant forming dense rosettes of dark green, recurved leaves. Its rich salmon coloring under ideal sunlight, coupled with its long, curving leaves, makes it highly sought-after. Similar to Aloe vanbalenii or Aloe dorotheae, it may exhibit intense orange and red hues in response to cold or drought. Its inflorescence, appearing in winter as a densely flowered spike up to 1 meter long, bears short, bright yellow, bell-like flowers. Native to southern Zimbabwe, it was named after its discoverer, EJ Bullock. Initially considered part of Aloe spicata, it was later recognized as a distinct species. Aloe tauri adds striking seasonal interest to gardens and is popular for close-up photography due to its colorful foliage and graceful appearance.
