Cold Climates - Add Heat Pack
For cold climates with upcoming sub-32-degree temperatures within five days of your order, we strongly advise adding a heat pack. Orders without a heat pack will not include one.
To prevent plants from freezing while in transit, orders placed for areas with severe freezing temperatures will be held for shipment until it is safe to ship.

A compact hybrid combining the best traits of Gasteria ‘Perfectus’ and Aloe aristata, Gasteraloe ‘Kabela’ forms a perfect rosette of softly silver-green triangular leaves edged with small teeth. The foliage is lightly textured and faintly spotted, giving the plant a polished, sculptural look. Mature rosettes reach about 6 in. tall × 10 in. wide, occasionally producing small basal offsets.
In spring, slender 12–18 in. stems rise above the foliage, bearing salmon-pink tubular flowers tipped with green to yellow. These delicate blooms nod gracefully and complement the plant’s understated color palette.
Bred by Russell Scott of Melbourne, Australia, and distributed via micropropagation by Gary Robinson in Western Australia, this hybrid was first described in Alsterworthia International (2006). The name ‘Kabela’—Swahili for “tribe”—reflects its collaborative origin.
Thriving in bright filtered light or morning sun, Gasteraloe ‘Kabela’ prefers well-drained soil and sparse watering. Hardy to about 25–30 °F, it stays compact and symmetrical with minimal care. Its fine texture and subtle hues make it perfect for containers, rockeries, or mixed succulent displays where elegance and restraint are key design elements.
